I have been so phenomenally busy the last several weeks that I haven't had time to do anything, much less write.
So here is the reader's digest version of what's been up with us:
Harley is a walking talking machine. She's borderline running already. She is so adorable walking around, usually with either a snack or drink in her hand, babbling incessantly. Her vocabulary has jumped in the last few weeks by leaps and bounds. She can of course say Mama, although she spreads it out fifteen syllables (Maaaaaaaaamaaaaaaaa) and Daddy, which comes out Daddieeeeeeee. If you ask her what Gavin's name is, she either says Buh or Boy. We still tend to call him Bub or Bubba when we're addressing him. I'm afraid it may stick. Oh well. She can also say Kitty, Book and Ball and when you pick her up she'll say "Wheeeeeeeee!" and giggle. She can tell you that Santa says "Ho ho ho" and the puppy says "Uff uff"...we're working on a duck. Right now it sounds like a higher pitch puppy.
She LOVES to read books. After bath time every night I'll say "are you ready to read" and she'll run in her room and grab Goodnight Moon and say "Book!". We usually read another book first, either the Pokey Little Puppy or Guess How Much I Love You, then when I pick up Goodnight Moon she gets the giggles. She likes for me to point out all the things in the book as I read it.
She has three of her four one year molars now. They all came in the same week. I think the other one is starting to push through because she has been crabby the last couple of days.
Gavin fully recovered from his broken wrist, although he mentions it at least once a week. He hasn't figured out yet that the sympathy card expired when the cast came off. Poor kid. He made all A's on his report card again. My kid is a genius! He loves football, wrestling and he loves to read. He's gotten into The Hardy Boys series, but while he is waiting for somebody to get the next book for him (neither Chris nor I have had a chance to go to the bookstore) he is reading the first Percy Jackson book. He's as bad as me and his daddy. We have to have something to read all. the. time.
I'm now waiting to hear back from NALA to see if I passed the Judgment and Analysis and the Legal Research portions of my certification exam. I won't hear back from that until probably mid-March. I made Dean's List last semester (go me!) and am taking 13 hours again this semester. Provided I maintain my plan, I will graduate and be done with Harvard on the Hill in August and can transfer to Mississippi State (yay!!!!!) in the fall. It's horribly embarrassing to be 30 years old, still in community college. I'm ready to be finished. Finished with school in general. I'm ready to have time to craft and sew and do all the stuff that I would be doing if I didn't have homework to do and tests to study for.
Chris is finally on board with me about getting healthier. That will make things a million times easier. He even moved the treadmill into the living room. Now I can't ignore it, nor can I let him get on it and outdo me. If he walks 2 miles, I walk 2.5. Just because. I started a weight loss blog back in December, but I've been slacking there, too. Now that my CLA testing is over (for now) maybe I can concentrate on writing again.
